What information does StoryAlbums collect and how does StoryAlbums use it?
You may visit and use
some of the features of our
site without registration, however, in order to create an album we require you to create a
member profile. When you create your profile, we will collect contact information (like your name, email
address, city and state) but no other demographic information (like your zip code, age, or income
level).
We use the
information we collect from you to:
- tailor your experience at our site
- protect
the privacy of the albums you create
- display content
that is specific to you
- display content according to
your preferences
- provide a faster method for you to submit
information and receive information you request.
We
do not use your IP address or any other method to track your presence or
movement through our site. Your visit is your business and no one else's.
Does StoryAlbums disclose the information it collects from its
visitors to outside parties?
StoryAlbums does not currently
sell, trade, or otherwise transfer outside the company personally
identifiable information. This include information that visitors voluntarily provide during
registration, while creating their albums or using any of the other
features of our site. The information we collect is used to
better understand your use of StoryAlbums. It is used to support related
transactions made on the site and to better know our visitors so that we
can target specific features or notifications
to them. However, StoryAlbums may, from time to time, share data solely in
an aggregate form (that will not enable third parties to personally
identify individual members, including you) to affiliates for marketing,
advertising, or other uses.
Does StoryAlbums use "cookies"?
Cookies are bits of electronic
information that a web site can transfer to a visitor's computer to help
tailor and keep records of his or her visit to the site. Cookies allow web
site operators to better customize site visits to the visitor's
individual preferences. The use of cookies is standard on the Internet and
many web sites use them. Although most web browsers automatically accept
cookies, you can usually change your browser to prevent or notify you
whenever you are sent a cookie. This gives you the chance to decide
whether or not to accept it. StoryAlbums requires your web browser to
accept cookies. Please be aware that you will not be able to access most of the features on
this
site without accepting cookies. StoryAlbums uses cookies so
that our visitors can better enjoy the experience on our site and save you
time, i.e., save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time
you visit our site. Cookies cannot be used to damage
your computer. If you would like more information about cookies, we
suggest you visit http://www.cookiecentral.com/.
StoryAlbums does not currently use any outside ad companies to display ads on our site.
The ads we use are links to companies that we have signed affiliate
agreements with and are simply a mechanism to transfer to their site. Once
you transfer to their site they may store cookies on your hard drive as
you enter or move through their site. Please consult their privacy policy
for more details on the data being collected by these companies. We do not have access to
any information they collect.
How does StoryAlbums protect visitor information?
StoryAlbums implements a variety of security measures to
maintain the safety of your personal information. Members' personal
information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by
a limited number of employees who have special access rights to such
systems.
To ensure compliance with updated security technology,
StoryAlbums recommends using one of the following browsers, each of which
can be downloaded free of charge: Netscape Navigator (http://www.netscape.com/), or
Microsoft Internet Explorer (http://www.microsoft.com/ie). When you submit information to us (or to any other
web site) over the Internet, the information may travel over many networks
and systems that are not under the control of StoryAlbums. The Internet is
not completely secure and others may intercept the information that you
are sending. Further, anything you voluntarily provide in any public area
of the Internet, including on StoryAlbums' web site, will be publicly
available to other visitors on that web site and potentially to other
third parties. You should always exercise caution when deciding to
publicly disclose any of your personal information.
How does a visitor opt-out, remove,
or modify information they have provided to StoryAlbums?
After
gathering any member information, StoryAlbums offers you the opportunity to
remove their information from our database so as not to receive future
communications or to no longer interact with the web site until they later
chose to by sending such a request to StoryAlbums at webmaster@storyalbums.startlogic.com, or as set
forth below under "Contact Us." Additionally, StoryAlbums provides members the
opportunity to update and modify any information they have previously
provided. Members may update the information on-line directly or send a request to webmaster@storyalbums.startlogic.com
to modify and/or delete the information previously provided.
StoryAlbums' special note to
parents
StoryAlbums is a general audience
web site that does not contain content specifically directed to children
under the age of 13. Since we do not collect age demographics information
we will not be able to block access to your child. We encourage parents and
guardians to spend time online with their children, to participate in the
interactive activities offered online, and for children to consult with
their parents before submitting any information to this or any other web
site. Parents should consider using parental
control tools available from online services and software manufacturers to
help supervise their children's online activities. These tools can also
prevent children from disclosing their name, address, and other personal
information online without parental permission. For additional information
about parental control tools, please consult the "Consumer Assistance"
page of the Direct Marketing
Association home page.
Third party links and co-brand relationships
In an
attempt to provide increased value to our visitors, StoryAlbums may choose to
provide link to
various third party web sites. StoryAlbums also participates in co-branding and other relationships
to offer e-commerce and other services and features to its members. However,
even if the third party is affiliated with StoryAlbums, StoryAlbums has no
control over these linked sites, each of who have separate privacy and
data collection practices independent of StoryAlbums. Data collected by our
co-brand partners or third party web sites (even if offered on or through
our site) is not received, stored, or used in any way by StoryAlbums. As
such, StoryAlbums has no responsibility or liability for these independent
policies or actions, and is not responsible for the privacy practices or
the content of any such web sites. These linked sites are only for your
convenience and you therefore access them at your own risk. Nonetheless, StoryAlbums seeks to protect the integrity of its web site and the links
placed upon it and therefore requests any feedback on not only its own
site, but for sites it links to as well (including if a specific link does
not work).

consent
By using our web site, you consent to the collection
and use of information by StoryAlbums as set forth in this privacy
statement. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those
changes on this page so that you will always be aware of what information
we collect, how we use it, and under what limited circumstances we
disclose it. Continued access or use of the web site shall constitute your
express acceptance of any modifications to this Privacy Statement.
